The Day the World Fell Away 06-24 (June 26, 2008)

(posted to Facebook, June 26, 2008)

The sun was rising and all the world seemed serene
It lit the world on fire, the ocean reflected life
Crests of waves were awakened, the beach was alive
But on the sand, the boy and his girl sat in peace

Hand in hand, they watched the magic of nature
Without a care in the world or any place to be
As he held her, he felt he was complete
She felt safe and secure and protected in his arms

The sun was falling and all the world seemed to panic
It lit the world on fire, the ocean hid from the pain
Crests of waves were shattered and the beach was broken
But on the sand, the boy and his girl sat in peace

Hand in hand, they watched the world fall away
Without a care in the world, all the needed was each other
As he held her, he was completely unaware
She felt safe and secure and protected, but she was unprepared

The sun was torn in two, the ocean could not escape
The waves cried out for rescue, but the beach was doomed
They sat in silent peaceful ignorance, until it was too late
The world crashed in pieces and they were torn apart as well

They never saw it coming, only after it was far too late
did they notice where they sat and that the world had fallen away
