ranterrific (Oct 7, 2008)

Secondly, things at English class:

'being pro-army is fine but not
when you attribute all peace
to needless war'
(underline all, double-underline needless war)

'but see, they only attacked
because we were occupying'

'concerned parents are fine. if they don't want
their children to read particular texts or
assigned novels, that is also okay. however,
you cannot force these opinions on other people.
these claims are more than personal opinions,
they are the values with which you guide your
actions. each person has varying degrees of
personal values and when it comes to things
that are not explicitly immoral, you CANNOT assume
your values are applicable to everyone. this is called
proselytizing and it is NOT OKAY.'

That last section there ties into some of what
I said concerning humility in 'English 101...'

It entirely ties into what went down tonight.

It's weird how things from different areas of your
life start tying into other, seemingly unrelated topics.
